Once we have received and confirmed your order and your payment, we will set up your account and provide you with IP address, user ID and password to access your account. You will also need to make changes to your domain name server (DNS) to point to our name servers. You can do this yourself by going to the web site of the registrar you used to register your domain name and look for "domain management" or similar link. We will provide you with our DNS information. If you register domain name with us, we will do this on your behalf when we are setting your account. Please note that it usually takes up to 48 hrs for this information to be processed and that your web site will not be available until this has been completed. Along with this information you will need File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software, used to transfer web pages from your computer to a remote computer where your web pages will be stored ("hosted"). We do not provide FTP software to you, nor do we recommend a particular piece of software. Many different kinds of this software are widely available for downloading on the Internet. For example, you can go to Tucow's web site (http://www.tucows.com) and choose one that you like the best. Once the above steps are completed and you have transferred your web pages to our servers, you (and everyone else) should be able to see your web pages on the Internet. |
